South Carolina scores impressive win over Grand Canyon, off to 5-0 start in 2023
South Carolina is on fire this basketball season.
The Gamecocks are now 5-0 after beating Grand Canyon on Sunday. Many people picked South Carolina to finish last in the SEC and the Gamecocks are on a mission to prove everyone wrong.
Lamont Paris coached the team to an 11-21 record last season. South Carolina was 2-3 after the first 5 games at this time last year.
After the most recent 75-68 win fans are hyped about the potential of this year’s team.
One fan noted that Grand Canyon won its conference last season and might do the same last season, calling the win not too shabby. Some were calling that the Gamecocks will be in the Final Four.
South Carolina is off to a good start and faces Notre Dame next on Nov. 28. It’ll be interesting to see if South Carolina can keep this momentum going once SEC play starts.

GCU won the WAC last year and were picked by the coaches to repeat this year. This is most likely a tournament team… not too shabby, Gamecocks!

Look . . . it’s not Duke or Kansas, but I’ll take it. Grand Canyon is led by Bryce Drew who has built a solid program there and won over 70% of its games. SC will come back down to Earth during conference play, but should look much better than last year.
Not too shabby. Keep it up guys!
GO COCKS
Good win.
