South Carolina superfan extends in-person game streak, celebrates win at Vanderbilt

South Carolina superfan Kirk Hollingsworth pulled off something even crowd restrictions couldn’t stop. He saw his 336th South Carolina game in person on Saturday as the Gamecocks knocked off Vanderbilt.
Hollingsworth tweeted that it was the “Best day ever” and something that wasn’t a sure bet until the final days leading up to the game. Hollingsworth has attended every Gamecock football game since 1992, but Vanderbilt has the strictest crowd restrictions in the SEC this season as it only allows senior students in the stadium. But Hollingsworth secured a hotel room that overlooks the stadium, and Gamecock supporters from Will Muschamp on down called it “in the stadium.”
Hollingsworth tweeted several highlights of game action during the game, and even pointed out a construction lift.
“I just noticed this lift just inside the stadium not in use,” he wrote. “Can use it for the 4th quarter?”
Hollingsworth is a bona fide super fan, so much so that he has “theUSC” Twitter handle, and his bio reads, “Biggest Gamecock Fan that you will ever find. Spreading the good word on Carolina!!”
Hollingsworth will be back in friendly surroundings this week when the Gamecocks play Auburn in Williams-Brice Stadium.
