South Carolina announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday including one of the program’s 2019 signees no longer being a member of the team.

Following Wednesday’s practice, the Gamecocks announced redshirt freshman wide receiver Tyquan Johnson is no longer a member of the team.

Will Muschamp offered up the following statement following the move:

“Tyquan and I got together and we both felt like it was in his best interest to get a fresh start,” Muschamp offered up.

Johnson originally signed with South Carolina as a member of the 2018 recruiting class but had to go to Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy before enrolling in Columbia. Johnson is originally from Screven County High School in Sylvania, Ga.

In addition to that news, South Carolina announced the addition of freshman Carson Galloway to the team.

Galloway will compete for the deep snapper position. He played at Wren High School in Piedmont, S.C., and will wear number 49.
