WATCH: Frank Martin's latest presser features hard reality check for helicopter parents
Without even having to know who exactly Frank Martin may be referring to in this video, we all know the type of parent the South Carolina coach is talking about in his latest press conference. The screaming, profane parent that thinks they know more than the coaches or officials and believe their child is being held back instead of being unleashed on the field or court.
Not only is Martin against this practice and claims to not participate in it, the South Carolina coach says he doesn’t even coach up his children when given the opportunity, he leaves that up to their coach. Martin also went into how little amateur officials and coaches get compensated for the work and time they put in, which speaks to the irrational belief they would have ulterior motives.
Martin challenges these parents to actually use their energy and passion to coach the team instead of berating others. This is classic Frank Martin stuff here:
