The Gamecocks started the Outback Bowl with a sluggish performance on offense, but two quick scores in the third have turned things around.

South Carolina went into halftime trailing Michigan by a score of 9-3. The Gamecocks defense came up with a few big stops in the first half to force field goals, but turnovers and miscues plagued the offense early on.

Michigan scored 10 unanswered points to begin the second half, and it looked like the Wolverines might pull away. However, South Carolina responded with a quick answer of its own.

RB Rico Dowdle, who was doubtful to play in the game, scored the first touchdown for the Gamecocks, but it was this connection between QB Jake Bentley and WR Bryan Edwards that provided the highlights.

Bentley put the ball up top and Edwards came away with an incredible spinning catch above a Michigan defender. It was a beautiful play and brings the Gamecocks within a field goal of the Wolverines as the fourth quarter gets started.
