The Gamecocks are riding high this season after holding on to beat Florida.

South Carolina played strong on both sides of the ball against the Gators. The Gamecocks were able to chew up time of possession offensively by rushing the ball effectively all game long. A.J. Turner led a rushing attack that gained 220 yards and averaged 4.7 YPC in the contest.

The only problem for South Carolina was turnovers as QB Jake Bentley threw three interceptions on the afternoon. The Gators were able to stay in the game thanks to those turnovers, but the Gamecocks intercepted Florida’s Feleipe Franks late to seal the deal.

It was a strong win for Will Muschamp over his former team, and he told his team he was glad to be a Gamecock after the game.

Here’s what he said to the team in the locker room after the win from Gamecock Football on Twitter:

The Gamecocks improved to 7-3 on the season with two games remaining. They will take on Wofford at home next weekend.
