Deion Sanders, Colorado off to hot start against TCU in first half as fans and media react
Deion Sanders and Colorado have turned heads already as the Buffaloes not only opened the scoring against TCU on the road, but answered the Horned Frogs score and took the lead again.
Sanders made waves, and headlines, much of the offseason, between fans, media and other coaches by the way he re-made the Colorado roster and brought in dozens of transfers. But Coach Prime remained confident in his plan to get Colorado back on track after years of being virtually off the college football radar.
Sanders had plenty of media coverage leading up to the game, including interviews Saturday morning with ESPN and FOX Sports.
Colorado led TCU at halftime 17-14, as former Alabama RB Trey Sanders had a pair of touchdowns for TCU. Dynamic 2-way star Travis Hunter had 6 catches for 31 yards for Colorado as he played more than 60 snaps. The Buffs got a field goal at the buzzer and overcame a fumble in the first half.
Here’s a sample of some of the early reaction from Saturday:
This Colorado team is good. Young deion def going to the league. He is much more accurate than I thought.

Deion Sanders changed the face of coaching. Tell me every school AD isn’t tuned into this game, wondering if their ol ball coach needs to go in favor of someone like Coach Prime.

Just give Coach Prime coach of the year now. Any other coach this game would be over by now. This Colorado team was AWFUL last year.

Prime’s comin’. First series of the Deion Sanders Era is a storm downfield for a touchdown. Incredible tempo. TCU bewildered.

Been quietly saying it for a minute but with what I’ve seen from Coach Prime…I would LOVE to see Nick Saban sail off into the sunset and Prime take over Bama in a few years.
