Mike Norvell and Florida State are having another tough week at the office.

After starting the season 0-2, the Noles were hoping to get their first win of the season on Saturday against Memphis — Norvell’s old program. It appears FSU may have to wait another week to get into the win column.

Memphis leads Florida State 13-3 at the half in Tallahassee.

It was a disaster of a first half for Florida State. The Noles fumbled on their second play of the game — the first of what would become a trio of turnovers before the break. DJ Uiagalelei also threw an interception in the first half and the Noles also had a muffed punt.

Uiagalelei continues to struggle as Florida State’s quarterback. He began the game 5-for-6 for 7 yards with an interception. He finished the half 7-of-14 for 31 yards and a QB rating of just 54.3.

Defensively, the Noles held up pretty well in the first half. Memphis managed just 3.6 yards per play and all of the Tigers’ points came off of FSU turnovers.

As Florida State’s first half unfolded, fans and media became more critical of Norvell as it becomes apparent that this Florida State team is not up to the task in 2024. Here’s some of the reaction to Florida State’s lackluster first half:
