Georgia Tech is in the market for a new football coach.

The school fired Geoff Collins on Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets had dropped to 1-3 on the season after Saturday’s 27-10 loss to Central Florida.

Collins, who previously spent time as an assistant at Alabama and Mississippi State, was just 10-28 overall in his 4th season.

Not surprisingly, potential candidates to fill the vacancy began emerging shortly after the news of Collin’s dismissal broke.

According to 247Sports college football analyst Carl Reed, the names he has heard thus far in connection with the job are Jackson State coach Deion Sanders, Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee, Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell, and Florida State OL/OC Alex (Atkins).

Sanders, of course, would be the most recognizable name on the list.

The former Florida State and NFL star is 18-5 in his 3rd season with Jackson State and would undoubtedly give the Yellow Jackets some juice on the recruiting trail.

McGe is also an interesting name, as he is considered one of the Bulldogs’ top recruiters. He’s also a Georgia native who has spent almost the entirety of his career in the state at both the college and high school level.
