Deion Sanders has invigorated Colorado during his first season in Boulder. ESPN’s Heather Dinich believes the undefeated No. 19 Buffaloes are a Cinderella story that’s excellent for the sport.

During an appearance on the most recent edition of Get Up, Dinich raves about Sanders and his Colorado squad after they set ESPN ratings records in their thrilling double overtime victory vs. in-state rival Colorado State.

“What college football needs right now is Deion Sanders and this entire team,” Dinich said. “…This is the spark and the character that college football fans need.”

Dinich adds that Sanders is making a lasting difference that extends beyond the exposure of being the hottest program in college football.

“But it goes deeper than that. Deion had an impact in the conversations of Colorado eventually joining the Big 12. He’s had an impact on what coaches can do in their first year using the transfer portal to transform teams,” Dinich said. “His impact is bigger than just the attention swell right now around that program.”

With 2-way star Travis Hunter sidelined this weekend, ESPN analytics gives Colorado a 6 percent chance to defeat host No. 10 Oregon.

Colorado at Oregon is slated for Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. EST and will be televised on ABC.
