Media reacts to Miami's embarrassing shutout bowl game loss
For the first time since 1994, Miami has been shut out in a bowl game.
It was a disappointing end to the season for the Hurricanes, who lost to Louisiana Tech, 14-0, in the Independence Bowl on Thursday. The last time Miami had been blanked in a bowl game was the 1994 Fiesta Bowl, when it lost, 29-0, to Arizona.
The Hurricanes went 6-7 this year, ending with three consecutive losses to Florida International, Duke and Louisiana Tech. It was their first losing season since 2014, as the Manny Diaz era did not get off to the most impressive start.
Many took to Twitter to break down Miami’s disappointing season-ending loss and to share their opinions:
Miami has gone 7 quarters without scoring a point in a bowl, and 9 quarters without scoring a TD.

Miami is the 3rd program in FBS history to compete in bowl games in consecutive seasons and combine for 3 or fewer points (1959-60 Alabama, 1990-91 Illinois).

In 2017, 5-7 Pitt broke Miami's 14-game FBS winning streak
Since then, the Canes are 11-16 against FBS
You fools, never play Pitt

Miami has had plenty of poor performances in recent years. Not sure any have been worse than being shut out by Louisiana Tech.

Miami just lost something called the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl in a 14-0 shutout and it arguably wasn’t their most embarrassing game vs. a Conference USA team in the last 33 days

Louisiana Tech is a good team, but it needed overtime to beat Rice. It gave up 21 points to one-win UTEP. This is just a ridiculous level of offensive incompetency from Miami.
