Miami and Appalachian State are facing off tonight at Hard Rock Stadium in what thus far as been a competitive game, with the No. 22 Hurricanes leading 9-7 early in the second quarter.

The action on the field, however, played second fiddle for many fans to what was happening in the stands at one point.

More specifically, somehow, a cat found itself hanging from a balcony and certain to plummet maybe 100 feet or more to the concrete below.

Disaster was thankfully averted by some clever Miami fans, who used an American flag to catch the cat as it finally fell.

Don’t believe us?

Well, see for yourself.
