Nation’s top 2022 QB, huge SEC target, decommits from Texas

The 2021 recruiting cycle is in full swing, but the top 2022 players have already started making their decisions, too.
On Wednesday night, however, the No. 2 overall player in the 2022 class decided to reconsider his college options.
As you can see below, 5-star QB Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll High School in Texas announced via Twitter that he was decommitting from Texas:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Ewers is the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2022 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Texas.
He holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Mizzou, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M. That’s every SEC school except Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Arkansas.
