Oregon suffered a difficult loss Saturday night to Oregon State, and given the stakes in the rivalry, the Beavers’ fans rushed the field to celebrate the win.

Amid the celebration, Oregon’s DJ Johnson, an outside linebacker, threw a cheap-shot punch at a fan before he was pulled away from the crowd.

Both teams finished the season 9-3.

However, the Beavers trailed 31-10 late in the third quarter and 34-17 early in the fourth, but the Ducks gave their rivals a short field on 3 consecutive possessions, which led to touchdowns.

The Ducks’ loss proved to be costly for their Pac-12 championship hopes. The Ducks can still make the Pac-12 championship game but need Washington State to beat rival Washington later Saturday. If Washington wins, Utah would advance to the title game against Southern Cal.
