The 2021 college football season is about to ramp up with some huge matchups this weekend. One of the most highly anticipated games features No. 1 Alabama and No. 14 Miami facing off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

There will surely be plenty of Crimson Tide fans making the trip to cheer on the defending national champions. And for those who are, the stadium recently announced the COVID-19 policies for Saturday’s game.

The Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game officials announced that the roof will be open for the contest, meaning masks will not be required in open-air areas, which includes the seating bowl, concourses and suites with doors. However, masks are “still strongly encouraged throughout the stadium” and will be required in enclosed spaces such as the retail store and other enclosed rooms.

“Our policy decisions were made after careful consideration and discussions with Mercedes-Benz Stadium and our participating teams,” Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and president Gary Stokan said in a statement. “These protocols are consistent with all other recent events hosted at the stadium, and fan response has been very positive.”

The same policies will be in effect for the matchup between Ole Miss and Louisville on Sept. 6, which is also taking place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The roof will be open for that contest as well.

Alabama and Miami will kick off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
