Texas A&M looks to break a two-game losing streak in bowl game appearances when it meets Wake Forest at 1 p.m. Friday in the Belk Bowl from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Both teams enter at 7-5.

The Aggies will be led by interim head coach Jeff Banks as they transition from Kevin Sumlin to Jimbo Fisher. They are 1-1 in bowl games with an interim head coach.

It’s the first meeting between the two schools and Texas A&M’s first football ever in North Carolina. The Aggies will make their 39th bowl appearance, 18th most among FBS teams. It’s also the ninth straight season with a bowl trip for Texas A&M, the longest streak in school history.

It shapes up to be an interesting bowl game, and here are 10 bold predictions for Texas A&M.

1. Not as much scoring as predicted: The over/under was 65.5 points as of early Thursday morning. Though the two teams have displayed prolific offenses, they won’t combine for that number in Charlotte. Texas A&M scored 35 or more just once in its past eight games and Wake Forest hasn’t reached 35 points in its last two.

2. Kirk to the house: Junior wide receiver Christian Kirk is the first A&M player with both punt and kick returns for touchdowns in the same season. He holds school records for punt return touchdowns in a season (three) and in a career (six). He will add to that on Friday, scoring a return touchdown on the Demon Decons. In addition, Kirk will extend the nation’s longest streak of catching at least two passes in every game of his career — all 38 so far. And in doing so, he will become just the second Aggie to make at least 60 catches in three straight seasons (first to do it in his first three seasons).

3. Ausbon punctuates first season: WR Jhamon Ausbon needs two catches to become the sixth true freshman at Texas A&M to reach 40 catches in a season. He also needs just 41 receiving yards to become the ninth freshman to reach 500 yards for the Aggies. He’ll get both done against a Wake Forest pass defense that ranks 13th in the ACC, allowing an average of 252.6 passing yards per game.

4. Starkel throws for 300: Redshirt freshman quarterback Nick Starkel has been on fire since returning to the lineup from a broken ankle that sidelined him for six games. In five games since returning, Starkel is 75-for-129 for 1,232 yards and 10 TDs. He will reach 300 yards against a porous Wake Forest pass defense.

5. LB reaches 100 tackles for season: Tyrel Dodson needs three tackles to become the Aggies’ first sophomore linebacker to reach 100 tackles in a season in nearly two decades. Brian Gamble tallied 110 tackles for the Aggies in 2000. Dodson ranks seventh in the SEC in tackles with 97.

6. LB reaches 200 career tackles: Junior linebacker Otaro Alaka needs nine tackles to reach 200 for his career. He hits that mark with a monster game on Friday.

7. Daniel LaCamera reaches scoring mark: The Aggies’ junior kicker needs five points to become the first kicker in school history to score 100 points in consecutive years. He will become just the second to score 100 points twice in a career at Texas A&M.

8. Sack leaders add to the total: When bookend sack masters Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall took their talents to the NFL, it left a huge void at defensive end. But Landis Durham and Jarrett Johnson have stepped up to fill the gap. The two have combined for 14.0 sacks this season and helped the Aggies lead the SEC with 40 sacks in 2017. The duo will add one each on Friday to that total.

9. Senior to finish with big game: Aggies WR Damion Ratley has saved his best for last. In his past four games, Ratley has hauled in 13 passes for 296 yards and six touchdowns, including his first career 100-yard game (111 vs. Ole Miss). His six receiving touchdowns in November led the SEC and ranked second nationally. Ratley averages 23.2 yards per catch, tops on the team, and ranks third in the SEC and fifth in the nation. He will average 20-plus yards on Friday with at least three catches.

10. Aggies continue scoring streak: Texas A&M carries a 26-game streak of scoring at least 14 points into Friday’s bowl game. It’s the longest such streak in the SEC. The Aggies will extend that mark with ease.
