Texas A&M already knew they would be without senior defensive back Clifford Chatman in 2020 after he opted out, but now Chatman may no longer be a part of the Aggies program moving forward past this season.

Chatman is reportedly in the NCAA transfer portal, just one day after head coach Jimbo Fisher announced he would opt-out for the season. By entering the transfer portal he is not bound to leave the school but is allowed be recruited by other programs.

Chatman played in 12 games in 2019, making three starts at the nickel position. His junior season included 28 total tackles, four passes defended and an interception in the Aggies’ win over Ole Miss.

Before the report he is in the transfer portal, Chatman marked the sixth Texas A&M player to opt-out of the 2020 season.

Texas A&M travels to Alabama on Saturday, to play the Crimson Tide with a 3:30 pm EDT kickoff on CBS.
