Players opting out of the season has become a trend for Texas A&M, and coach Jimbo Fisher announced another one on Monday.

DB Clifford Chattman has opted out of the season, and evidently did so before the Vanderbilt game. Fisher also added that OL Luke Matthews and WR Hez Jones are injured. Chattman is the sixth Aggie to opt out this season.

Chattman last year played in 12 games and made 3 starts at nickel cornerback. He made 14 tackles last year, including four and an interception against Ole Miss.

Fisher said WR Demond Demas and RB Devon Achane were just lower on the depth chart than those that played Saturday, thus why they didn’t see the field. Could see them in action this weekend, he said.

The Aggies will play at Alabama this week, and this is the first time the Aggies will alter their travel schedule. Fisher said travel plans will change because of COVID-19. Typically A&M traveled on Thursdays and worked with academic advisors on extra day. Now, will travel on Friday.

In reviewing the video from the Vanderbilt win, Fisher said, “Some good things (on video) and a lot that we need to get a lot better. There are issues that are very fixable. We have to get much better between the first and second game.”
