Buzz Williams vows to match winnings of Texas A&M student who drilled halfcourt shot
Buzz Williams guided Texas A&M to a thrilling 67-66 win over Florida Saturday evening, but that was not the only thrilling aspect of the game.
During one break in the action, an Aggie student took part in a half-court shot with a chance to win some money. The heave by the student was pure with a beautiful bank shot going through for the win.

The shot netted the student $1,000 for the bucket, but Williams was left unimpressed by the cash payout. During his postgame press conference, Williams pledged to match the $1,000 winnings.
“I knew something entertaining was going on,” said Williams about the moment. “$1,000? That’s all we can give them? If she’s listening, come see me and I’ll match the gift from Texas A&M.”

That type of shot is definitely worth some cash and $2,000 is not a bad day’s work for attending a Texas A&M basketball game. It’s also cool to see Williams step up and make the night a little bit sweeter for the student.
