Texas A&M reaches into New Jersey to land commitment from lineman Isaiah Raikes
One of the nation’s best recruiting classes just got better as the Aggies have landed another commitment on the heels of the program’s upcoming training camp.
Texas A&M’s 17th commitment of the 2020 recruiting cycle comes from New Jersey defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes, who announced his commitment to Jimbo Fisher’s program on Thursday. Texas A&M’s 2020 class currently ranks as the No. 9 class in the nation and the No. 4 class in the SEC.
Raikes, a 6-foot, 324-pound of St. Augustine Prep from Richland, N.J., currently ranks as a three-star prospect and the No. 41 defensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He commits to the Aggies over scholarship offers from Penn State, Northwestern, Baylor and Boston College.
In his two most recent seasons on the high school gridiron, Raikes has racked up 95 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He is the third defensive lineman to commit to the class, joining Tennessee defensive tackle Dallas Walker and fellow New Jersey product Fadil Diggs, who is a defensive end.
