Following the latest Playoff rankings reveal, No. 5 Texas A&M (7-1) is the highest-ranked team that wouldn’t qualify for the College Football Playoff as of now. Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher went on the Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday to campaign for the expansion of the CFP, which only fields four teams.

As it currently stands, the CFP field includes Alabama (9-0), Notre Dame (10-0), Clemson (9-1), and Ohio State (5-0). Ohio State is ranked above Texas A&M despite playing three fewer games.

Texas A&M’s lone loss came against No. 1 Alabama in Week 2. Since then, Texas A&M has reeled off six consecutive victories, most recently against Auburn.

Texas A&M was slated to host Ole Miss this weekend but the game has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Texas A&M is scheduled to travel to Tennessee on Dec. 19.

Here is the clip of Fisher explaining why he believes the Playoff will inevitably expand.
