Jimbo Fisher was fired early Sunday morning following Texas A&M’s win over Mississippi State, and several players confirmed how they learned the news.

Many players first learned about Fisher’s firing on social media Sunday morning, they said at Bright Football Complex.

Texas A&M offensive lineman Mark Nabou also confirmed that Fisher was not at Bright Football Complex on Sunday morning following his firing. TexAgs’ Billy Liucci broke the news of Fisher’s firing at 8:30 a.m. ET Sunday morning.

But Nabou and the Aggies are now ready to move forward and get to work for their final 2 games of the season. Texas A&M will take on Abeline Christian and LSU to close out the season. Texas A&M co-defensive coordinator and D-line coach Elijah Robinson will serve as interim head coach.

“We’re still going to do our thing,” Nabou said after a team meeting. “We’re still going to play football at the end of the day. Even though it’s a setback, we’re going to keep playing football,”
