Jimbo Fisher laments upset loss to Arkansas: 'We have to get better'
Jimbo Fisher watched his Texas A&M team fall to Arkansas on Saturday as the Aggies struggled in several areas, and got off to a slow start.
The Aggies had their overall 11-game winning streak snapped as they fell to 3-1 and 0-1 in the SEC. The Aggies cut it to within a touchdown in the third quarter, but couldn’t come all the way back.
The Aggies will look to get back on track next week as they get 4 of their next 5 games at home, beginning with Mississippi State.
Here are some of Fisher’s comments after the game:
Jimbo Fisher: “We had 11 penalties in the game. We had a lot of self-inflicted issues. We didn’t play good.”

Jimbo Fisher on A&M’s lack of deep passing attempts: “They were playing 3-5-3. They were playing a lot of deep zone. They were trying to limit you to intermediate and short throws. … We called about six deep shots in the game, and we had to check them all down.”

Jimbo Fisher: “We have to get better. We have to get guys playing with more consistency, and that’s coaching. At the end of the day, that’s coaching.”

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher: “We got off to a slow start. Like I say, you never win a game in the first start, but you can certainly put yourself behind the 8-ball. That’s exactly what we did.”
