Suspended Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill has a new mentor, former NFL quarterback Sean Salisbury. Salisbury was on a radio show in Houston when he mentioned that Hill’s family has hired him as a personal mentor and quarterback coach for the sophomore quarterback.

Salisbury played for five different NFL franchises after a college career at Southern California, as well as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, with whom he won the Grey Cup. After his playing career, Salisbury worked at ESPN for several years before being fired for an incident involving lewdness and a cell phone. He now has a show on the Yahoo! Sports Radio network.

Hill has hit a rough stretch in his career. After a record-setting debut, he struggled as the Aggies got into the meat of their SEC schedule. Texas A&M’s coaching staff opened up competition for every position on offense following a 59-0 loss to Alabama and Hill was beaten out for the starting nod against Louisiana-Monroe last weekend. Days later, Texas A&M announced that Hill would be suspended for two games for a violation of team and school rules. Texas A&M coaches have said that Hill will have a chance to earn his job back after his suspension is up.
