Texas A&M entered Saturday’s game at Mizzou fresh off a Week 6 upset of then-No. 1 Alabama.

There were some, including head coach Jimbo Fisher, who wanted to make sure the Aggies weren’t riding too high after the big win, as the game in Columbia with an 11 a.m. Central time kickoff had the makings of a potential trap game.

But, that wasn’t the case when the game started. The Aggies forced a Connor Bazelak interception on Mizzou’s first possession and then marched down the field and scored on this TD catch by Ainias Smith:

Shortly thereafter, Isaiah Spiller embarrassed the Mizzou defense with this easy 48-yard touchdown run:

Bazelak threw a second interception later in the first half, but the halftime score was only 28-7 in favor of Texas A&M.

After the Tigers closed the gap to 28-14, the Aggies got the offense going again. Devon Achane punched it in from 1 yard out to make it 35-14:

The maligned Mizzou defense made some stops in the second half, but the Tiger offense couldn’t do much against the Aggies’ stout defense.

When all was said and done, Texas A&M left Columbia with a 35-14 victory over its former Big 12 foe.

Spiller finished with 168 rushing yards and a touchdown. Achane finished with 124 yards and 2 scores.

Smith led all Aggie receivers with only 34 yards, but he had 2 touchdowns.

Mizzou is off next weekend. The Aggies host South Carolina. We’ll see if A&M can keep the good times going.
