Texas A&M has 1 more game remaining in the 2024 season as the Aggies will take on USC in the Las Vegas Bowl on December 27. However, coach Mike Elko and the Aggies staff has been busy on the recruiting trail, as they look to build off their 8-4 season.
They have been as busy as any team in the transfer portal, and on Monday they continued to bring in top talent as Florida defensive end TJ Searcy announced that he would be headed to College Station.
In his freshman campaign, Searcy was named to the Freshman All-SEC team as he finished with 26 tackles, 1 FF and 0.5 sacks. He built off those numbers last season, finishing with 34 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 FF.
One of the key things that brought Searcy to College Station is defensive line coach Sean Spencer, who originally recruited him to Florida. This is a big move for the Aggies, as they have lost a total of 5 pass rushers to either the transfer portal or the NFL Draft. The Aggies have lost 9 total players to the transfer portal, but have been bringing in some top talent to help make up for the loss.
