Texas A&M added a graduate transfer running back via the portal over the weekend.

On Monday night, head coach Jimbo Fisher announced that former Colorado State and Boston College running back David Bailey will be joining the program.

Bailey was a member of Boston College’s 2018 recruiting class. He was a 3-star prospect in that cycle and quickly became an impact player for the Eagles. He rushed for a career-high 844 yards back in 2019. In 2020, after rushing for 503 yards and 7 touchdowns, Bailey entered the transfer portal.

He then transferred to Colorado State ahead of the 2021 season and was immediately part of the Rams’ running back rotation. In 2021, he carried the ball 197 times for 9 touchdowns. He also caught 15 passes for 134 yards and 2 more scores.

Bailey was less-involved in 2022 and only played in 3 games, allowing him to maintain his eligibility for the 2023 campaign. Last season, he had 20 carries for 61 yards.

He joins a Texas A&M backfield that includes players like Amari Daniels, Le’Veon Moss and 5-star freshman Rueben Owens.
