Texas A&M downs No. 21 Ohio State behind balanced scoring effort
Texas A&M basketball bounced back from its opening night loss to UCF by scoring its best win of the season over No. 21 Ohio State, 78-64 on Friday night.
The Aggies are now 3-1 on the season and have looked much more like the team that was advertised preseason. Texas A&M is a veteran team – all but 2 of its true contributors are seniors. And as we were reminded when Kentucky downed Duke last week, experience always has the advantage in today’s game.
Here are a few highlights from the win:

Manny Obaseki and Wade Taylor IV led the scoring effort for the Aggies, each dropping 15 points. Zhuric Phelps and Henry Coleman weren’t far behind with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The difference in this one was Texas A&M’s 3-point shooting and slight edge at rebounding – and that’s in a game where Andersson Garica only had 4 boards. A slow start gave way to a 2nd half blitz, where the Aggies scored 47 of their 78 points. Ohio State started equally slow but continued its inefficient pace in the 2nd half as the Aggies defense clamped down.
Texas A&M is back in action on Wednesday against Southern, which has yet to score a win this season.
