Texas A&M has secured a commitment from a veteran quarterback in the transfer portal. Jacob Zeno announced that he’ll spend his 7th season of college football in College Station with the Aggies.

Zeno spent 2024 with the UAB Blazers. The QB played in 4 games this season and completed 82 of 118 passes for 819 yards with 6 TDs and 5 INTs.

Zeno started his college career back in 2019 with Baylor. The QB stayed at Baylor until 2022 when he transferred to UAB. With Baylor, Zeno played in 6 games and threw for 282 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Through 24 games with UAB, Zeno threw for 4,666 yards with 31 TDs and 17 INTs.

The QB had his best season in 2023. While leading the Blazers to a 4-8 record, Zeno threw for 3,126 yards with 20 TDs and 9 INTs. In 2024, Zeno was beaten out by former top prospect Jalen Kitna. Kitna transferred to UAB ahead of the 2024 season and threw for 2,209 yards with 17 TDs and 11 INTs.

Now, Zeno will try his luck with his 3rd different college team. The QB has thrown for just under 5,000 yards and 32 TDs over parts of 6 seasons in college.

The addition of Zeno will provide Texas A&M with some solid depth at the position. Conner Weigman, who entered 2024 as the starter, announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. Marcel Reed, who split starts with Weigman, is still around as is Miles O’Neill.
