Texas A&M WR Micah Hudson temporarily stepping away from football, per report
Texas A&M transfer wide receiver Micah Hudson is removing himself from the program’s day-to-day football activities, according to a report.
Hudson transferred to Texas A&M after spending his freshman season at Texas Tech and was part of an impressive haul of wideouts who chose to play in College Station in 2025 after transferring from elsewhere. But now Hudson will reportedly be away from the program temporarily, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
Hudson was a 5-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports rankings. He was the 25th-ranked player in the class, the 5th-ranked wide receiver and the 4th-ranked player out of the state of Texas. Hudson was born in Temple, Texas, so he’s decided to stay in his home state to begin his collegiate career, choosing a move to Texas A&M after starting down the road in Lubbock last season.
Hudson has huge upside, but he didn’t make a huge impact at Texas Tech in 2024, finishing with just 8 catches for 123 yards in 5 games for the Red Raiders during an injury-plagued freshman season.
He originally chose the Red Raiders in a very tight race with Texas and Texas A&M, with Oklahoma also finding itself in the mix for his services. Ultimately, Hudson has ended up in College Station in 2025, though his activities at Texas A&M are on hold for now.
