Texas A&M is headed to Jacksonville, Florida on New Year’s Eve to play in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl against the ACC’s N.C. State.

The Aggies, who finished 8-4 and 5-3 in the SEC, will face a similar foe from the ACC in the Wolfpack, as first reported by Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com.

Texas A&M checked in at No. 19 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Aggies were also No. 19 a week ago. This is the first time in the five-year history of the rankings that the Aggies were in the Top 25 at the end of the regular season.

The Aggies gained national headlines following a historic 74-72 seven-overtime victory over LSU when Kendrick Rogers caught Kellen Mond’s 2-point conversion pass for a victory that tied the NCAA record for most overtimes in an FBS game.

N.C. State posted consecutive nine-win seasons for the first time in 22 years and third time in school history.

The Wolfpack started 5-0, but then lost three of the next four against Clemson, Syracuse and Wake Forest. But State rebounded with three straight wins to close the season against North Carolina, Louisville and East Carolina to finish 9-3 and 5-3 in the ACC, third in the Atlantic Division.

The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.
