Texas A&M added another piece to its 2017 recruiting class on Thursday as three-star athlete Devodrick Johnson committed to the Aggies.

Johnson announced his decision via Twitter on Thursday evening:

Johnson lives in Dallas and played quarterback and outside linebacker in high school. He told 247Sports that defensive coordinator John Chavis will keep him on the defensive side of the ball in college:

“Coach Chavis sees me as a linebacker and that comes from the defensive coordinator who is also the linebackers coach,” he said. “He will help develop me at that position which is a spot I love to play and want to help the team make plays.”

According to 247Sports, Johnson is the No. 34 outside linebacker in the class of 2017 and the No. 75 overall recruit from the state of Texas.
