On Friday, Sports Illustrated identified Tennessee as one of (at least) three programs fined by the SEC for not adhering to COVID-19 protocols. Volunteers coach Jeremy Pruitt appears to have responded by making a change to his mask.
ESPN/SEC Network news editor Brandon Zimmerman noticed Pruitt’s new face covering in video footage shown on the SEC Network ahead of UT-Kentucky kickoff in Knoxville and shared a screen capture on social media.

Ole Miss and Texas A&M were also fined, according to the SI report. Ross Dellenger’s report followed news of SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey’s memo to teams stating there’d be a $100,000 loss in revenue for teams that didn’t comply with the protocols, with the amount increasing by $100,000 for each week of noncompliance.
With Pruitt’s apparent change in face covering, fans will have to find something else to meme.
