Butch Jones: Tennessee freshman Derrell Scott leaving program
Tennessee freshman running back Derrell Scott plans to transfer, head coach Butch Jones told WNML The Sports Animal in Knoxville Friday afternoon. Jones was a guest on SportsTalk with hosts John Wilkerson and Jimmy Hyams when he confirmed Scott’s desire to leave the program.

Scott played in two games and had 48 yards on 11 attempts. He saw his best performance during his season debut against Chattanooga, rushing for 42 yards on nine carries.
Scott rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 3 all-purpose back in the 2014 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Tennessee has commitment from four-star JUCO transfer Alvin Kamara, three-star running back Rocky Reid and three-star all-purpose back Vincent Perry. Former Cincinnati running back Ralph David Abernathy IV plans to transfer to Tennessee in January.
