It’s a bit of good news, bad news on Rocky Top for the Vols with the Orange & White game approaching as the depth at running back has taken a hit recently but at the same time, the news isn’t nearly as bad as it could have been.

During his Tuesday media availability, Jeremy Pruitt announced senior running back will miss the rest of the spring after having to undergo surgery to his leg.

“Carlin Fils-aime is out for the spring. He had to have a procedure on his leg. He will be back and ready to go in July,” Pruitt stated on Tuesday. “It’s unfortunate for him, thought he was having a really good spring. Being a senior’s last go around, I know he was frustrated with it but it was something that was needed to be done. He will be back better than ever.”

Fils-aime initially found it tough to find his footing in Pruitt’s program but credit the Florida native to sticking it out and working hard to improve his game as the new Tennessee staff attempted to move Fils-aime to defensive back before shifting him back to his natural running back position. In his first game back at running back last season against South Carolina, Fils-aime responded by scoring a touchdown in the contest.
