Dalton Knecht delivered a monumental season for Tennessee, and the Vols’ star was honored with the SEC’s top honor.

On Monday, the SEC released the full list of individual honors for the season with Knecht taking home the SEC Player of the Year award. In a season full of star performances that includes Alabama’s Mark Sears and Kentucky’s Antonio Reeves, Knecht goes down as the league’s top player.

This season, Knecht led the SEC in scoring at 21.4 points per game. He started all 31 games while also averaging 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Knecht capped the regular season with 40 points in a home loss to Kentucky, a new career-high. He is the first Vol to receive POTY honors since Grant Williams in 2019. To no surprise, Knecht also received SDS’s vote for the league’s POTY.

Now, Knecht and the Vols will head to the SEC Basketball Tournament as the No. 1 seed and in search of a 1-seed in the Big Dance. Fans can track all the latest postseason odds with SDS’s Tennessee online sportsbooks.
