When No. 7 Tennessee got revenge over No. 4 Kentucky over the weekend in the Vols’ 71-52 home win over the Wildcats, Rick Barnes team not only created some separation between themselves and UK in the SEC standings, the program regained some respect it had lost after losing to John Calipari’s program in Lexington.

Chief among those impressed with Tennessee coming off the big win at home was ESPN college basketball personality, Dick Vitale. The longtime ESPN college basketball hype man recently shared his take on which four teams around the nation deserve to be No. 1 seeds at the moment and the Vols made the cut following Saturday’s win over Kentucky.

“If I were picking the four #1 seeds today they would be Gonzaga, Virginia, Duke, Tennessee,” Dickie V wrote on Twitter. “Will change weekly as this will go to the buzzer!”

Following Saturday’s win, Tennessee improved to 26-3 overall on the season and 14-2 in conference play while Kentucky dropped to 24-5 overall and 13-3 in the SEC. Two games remain before the SEC Tournament begins in Nashville, where the winner of the league is likely to earn a No. 1 seed. Kentucky beat Tennessee in the SEC title game last season.
