It’s official, Cam Sutton is now a Steeler after signing a four-year deal with the Pittsburgh franchise. The team announced the deal Tuesday morning and has now signed seven of the eight players selected in the latest NFL draft.

Pittsburgh drafted the former Tennessee cornerback in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Sutton left Knoxville as the Volunteers’ all-time leader in pass defended with 37. Sutton plans to wear No. 20 for the Steelers, after wearing No. 23 and No. 7 during his four-year Tennessee career.

According to his former head coach Butch Jones, the Steelers were so impressed with Sutton’s knowledge of the Volunteers’ defense during the pre-draft process, they had to call back to Knoxville to brag about Sutton’s understanding of the scheme.

“Cameron is a press corner who plays close to the line of scrimmage, but he can also play off,” defensive backs coach Carnell Lake said according to the Steelers website. “He does a good job of mirroring the wide receiver. He knows how to cover, stays close, and that is something we have been looking for.”

The team also provided the following statements from Sutton after joining the organization via the draft.

“Just to have the opportunity to be with such a historic and prestigious organization, it means a lot,” said Sutton. “I’m really going to make the most of it. I’m a guy who’s about his business and just ready to get to work. I’m definitely going to make the most of every opportunity that they give me out there on the field and take advantage of that.”
