Even though Tennessee never quite figured out the best way to use RB Alvin Kamara, the New Orleans Saints turned him into a star as a rookie in 2017.

The ex-Vol ran for 728 yards and eight touchdowns for the NFC South-champion Saints, and was just as effective as a receiver, catching 81 passes for 826 yards and five scores.

For his efforts, Kamara was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday night:

It took the Saints a few weeks to figure out how to best utilize Kamara, and he didn’t really take off until the team traded RB Adrian Peterson to Arizona.

Now, though, he and former Alabama RB Mark Ingram are one of the NFL’s most-fearsome backfield tandems, and should continue to strike fear in opposing defenses for years to come.
