Tennessee officially made the move to fire Butch Jones Sunday, and the university will now begin its search for the next head coach of the Vols.

Tennessee AD John Currie held a press conference to discuss the change, and he believes the program is in good position for a new coach to takeover. Currie also commented that he does not plan to use a search firm to find the next coach.

The SEC Network took time to discuss how good of a job the position is, and Marcus Spears says the position is a great one. He pointed to the location of the school along with the facilities and town of Knoxville as strong factors:

“I think it’s one of the best jobs in college football,” said Spears. “If you take a ride down to Knoxville the facilities and infrastructure, there’s a lot to behold. It’s been fertile recruiting ground. Access to Georgia and Tennessee. Butch did a good job recruiting five-star players…I think this is a great job.”

Tennessee does have a lot going for it, but the Vols will need to make sure they find the right coach with this hire.
