Grant Williams will not be returning for his senior season on Rocky Top but that decision has nothing to do with his love for his university.

The reigning two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year officially announced his decision to keep his name in the 2019 NBA Draft late last week following a strong showing at the latest NBA scouting combine. Most analysts expect the junior forward to be taken in the first round of the upcoming NBA draft following the event.

Tennessee’s All-American averaged 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals per game last season for Rick Barnes’ team after signing with the Vols over scholarship offers from Harvard and Yale. Last season, Tennessee spent a considerable amount of time ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Now that he has officially decided to keep his name in the 2019 NBA Draft, Williams has issued a touching farewell message to everyone associated with the Tennessee basketball program.
