Depending on which Tennessee fan you hear from, Harrison Bailey is going to win multiple Heisman Trophies and go a combined 8-0 against Florida and Alabama during his playing career on Rocky Top.

And that’s coming from the more rational Tennessee fans.

Last week, a video of Bailey, in shorts and no pads, throwing a slant passes going up against air during his first Tennessee practice went viral last week as the Volunteers began spring camp on Rocky Top with an open quarterback competition.

After Tennessee’s first practice of the spring, Jeremy Pruitt briefly mentioned Bailey when noting his team has an open quarterback competition to start camp — which only fuels the fire for Tennessee fans eager to see the true freshman win the starting role on Rocky Top.

“We have a couple other quarterbacks in that room. Harrison Bailey, Jimmy Holiday, Kasim Hill, they are taking the same amount of reps too,” Pruitt said. “We have to figure out who our first, second and third quarterback is. They will have a chance to do that throughout the spring. That’s for every position. In this business, you’re only as good as your last game, whether you are a coach or a player. There always needs to be competition so everyone will be at their best.”

Of course, Tennessee’s spring has been postponed and all the players have been sent home following the outbreak of the coronavirus. While the Volunteers won’t have any coach supervision in the coming days and weeks, that doesn’t mean Bailey won’t be working hard to improve his skills.
