Tennessee QB Jarrett Guarantano was incredible on Saturday during the Vols’ spring game at Neyland Stadium.
The redshirt junior threw for four touchdowns to lead the white team to a big win over the orange team.
After the game, though, Guarantano wasn’t singing his own praises. He said that he wasn’t facing the Vols’ defense’s best shot, as they were running a lot of base sets:
#Vols’ Jarrett Guarantano not going overboard when asked about his 4-TD performance in the spring game: The defense was vanilla today. Very vanilla. They’ve been throwing crazy stuff at us lately, but they were vanilla today.

That’s good to hear for Vol fans, but Guarantano still had a nice game, regardless of the “vanilla” defense.
It’s something to build on moving forward, and his receivers showed they can win one-on-one matchups as well.
