Tennessee WR Jauan Jennings has developed into a vocal and emotional leader as the Vols have turned around their season in recent weeks.

Jennings matched career highs in catches and set a new one in yards against Georgia, and got the start in a Wildcat formation against South Carolina. Against the Gamecocks, Jennings set a new career high with 174 receiving yards while tying career highs with seven catches and two receiving touchdowns. That elevated him to a tie with Robert Meachem for eighth in receiving touchdowns in program history. He was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after the South Carolina game.

Those have been his best games, but he’s delivered plenty of big plays throughout the season. Recently, he explained how he received a nickname.

“Every day I wake up and come in with juice,” Jennings said in an interview with reporters this week, in a video shared by Marshall Hughes. “That’s something you’ve got to possess. You can’t just go out there and buy juice, you’ve got to own it. Ever since I’ve been here, I come up here with large amounts of energy and it’s never changed, so I’m juice man.”

Jennings’ career has also had quite a turnaround as he’s become one of the Vols most important players two years after he was kicked off the team.

Overall, Jennings has caught 47 passes for 722 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He is set to graduate in December.
