Tennessee may be ready to turn the page to a new era at quarterback this week when they host Florida.

On the SEC coaches media teleconference, coach Jeremy Pruitt said, “Harrison Bailey will definitely play on Saturday, to what extent we have not yet decided.”

Pruitt then explained what Bailey has done to make him believe the young quarterback is ready.

“I feel like the three games that he’s played in, obviously the situations were probably favorable to him at the time, based off the score, but I thought he handled himself really well, he continues to improve,” Pruitt said. “So, the more practice time that he gets, you know, probably the more comfortable he is in the system and his surroundings and the people around him so.”

Pruitt said that Tennessee would absolutely accept a bowl invite if offered one, and that he’s really excited about the growth of the freshmen and sophomore.

“We’ve got 50-something of them that have never experienced spring ball,” he said.

After LB Kivon Bennett was dismissed earlier this week, Pruitt was asked who steps up in that role. Pruitt said Tyler Baron, Roman Harrison played well but has been banged up, and also mentioned Morven Joseph.
