The Tennessee Volunteers had a successful National Signing Day, and a successful 2019 recruiting cycle in general.

Per the 247Sports rankings, the Vols currently have the nation’s No. 12 recruiting class and the No. 7 overall class in the SEC.

On Wednesday, coach Jeremy Pruitt explained that the Tennessee basketball team is doing its part to help the football team, as having the Vols at No. 1 in the AP Poll helps on recruiting visits:

The Vols are indeed kicking some ass this year, as Pruitt said. Currently, they’re 21-1 overall and have a perfect 9-0 record in SEC play.

On the gridiron, Pruitt has the Vols going in the right direction, but they’re probably still a couple years away (at least) from competing for the No. 1 spot.
