Jeremy Pruitt releases statement on incoming Tennessee transfer Aubrey Solomon
Tennessee fans and players are buzzing about Aubrey Solomon’s transfer to the Volunteers, and coach Jeremy Pruitt appears just as pleased.
Pruitt released a statement about the former 5-star recruit on the team’s official website just hours after Solomon officially joined Tennessee’s roster Friday.
“Aubrey is a guy that a lot of coaches on our staff knew when he was a young man in high school, and we all recruited him,” Pruitt said in the press release. “He can play all three downs. He’s a powerful man. He’s smart. He’s a good student. He has experience, having already played at the collegiate level. He is a great addition to our university and our football program.”
Solomon played at Michigan for the last two years, during which he registered 24 tackles and two tackles for loss over 18 games. The 6-foot-3, 297-pound defensive tackle dealt with injuries this season but should be an important player for the Vols over the next few years.
