The NFL preseason is ramping up with several former SEC players catching attention in the action ahead of the season.

One of those players was former Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs, who looked solid in his first preseason action against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He completed 10-of-13 passes for 108 yards with 1 touchdown en route to the 24-13 win.

Dobbs hasn’t received as much attention as a lot of the newer quarterbacks and other backups across the league, but is still making a case for himself in the midst of what is a very uncertain situation at quarterback in Cleveland with the Baker Mayfield trade and the situation surrounding Deshaun Watson.

Dobbs is an athletic quarterback who has displayed promising passing ability, including in this particular showing. While at Tennessee, he completed 61.5% of his passes for 7,138 passing yards with 53 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. It will be interesting to see how much of an opportunity he gets in the midst of an evolving situation.
