Josh Heupel gave his thoughts on Missouri quarterback Brady Cook ahead of the Vols’ matchup with the Tigers on Saturday.

Cook has been outstanding for Missouri this season, recording 2,471 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’s also proved to be an efficient runner with 173 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground.

Heupel knows the threat that Cook brings to Saturday’s game and he knows his defense will have to be well-prepared to defend him.

“He’s smart, he’s accurate with the football and he is athletic,” Heupel said in his Monday press conference. “Has the ability to affect the game with his feet and we’ve got to do a great job in the pass game, we’ve gotta affect him, not let him be comfortable in the pocket. While doing that, you can not let him escape the pocket. He’ll be dynamic and make great plays with his feet and with his arm as he breaks contain. He’s obviously a part of their run game and can hurt you there.”

Tennessee is looking for a big win over Missouri on Saturday. The Vols are looking to make a late push for the SEC East title, and it starts with a win over Missouri.
