Josh Heupel offers initial scouting report on Georgia
Josh Heupel and Tennessee have another big test this week after getting stomped by Missouri on the road on Saturday.
Now the Vols have to prepare for one of the best team’s in the nation that hasn’t lost in almost 2 years. Georgia is coming off a dominant win over Ole Miss last week and looking to keep things rolling against the Vols as the Bulldogs continue their quest for a 3rd-straight national championship.
Heupel has gotten familiar with Georgia in his first 2 seasons at Tennessee and he knows what brand of football Kirby Smart brings.
“We got a great opponent coming to town this week,” Heupel said in his press conference Monday. “You look at Georgia, they play extremely well. Smart football, physical football, all 3 phases of the game. They got dynamic playmakers in all 3 phases of the game as well. Huge test for us, and we gotta have a great week of preparation to get ready for these guys.”
Tennessee will get to play an SEC home game for the first time since the Texas A&M game. The Vols haven’t fared well on the road this season, so being back home will be a breath of fresh air for Tennessee.
“It’s the first time we’ve been back home for an SEC game inside Neyland Stadium in over a month,” Heupel said. “Looking forward to our fans, seeing them there on Saturday. Need a great atmosphere.”
